Something was walking on my bed ….

The hotel in general is suitable for meetings considering the public part, but the problems are in the rooms. I woke up in the middle of the night at 3 am unexpectedly and in fact I lit the light and I could see two small black bugs making their way on the sheets. I killed them and I shook the sheets outside the window because I was too tired to call the recepción, but then at the end I couldn’t sleep. In the morning I asked at the recepción to change everything being quite upset and I was pleased that by themselves they offered to change the room. Anyway when I came back in the evening they told me it wasn’t possible. I was horrified because I thought that they were bedbugs, then after discussing with them I checked on internet again and they weren’t, but I told them that something black, small and with no wings was in my bed, and it was not ants. They assured me the sheets and cover were changed and they were (because we’re with spots before), but they were firm in no changing my room. I crossed my fingers and went to sleep, but between this, the waiter at breakfast cleaning up the tables with a dirty rag without disinfecting anything, the microscopical towels for the shower and the tiny room….. I recommend to go to other others and not in this one…….

Lovely staff, but rooms are badly looked after and cheaply refurbished. I had an expensive room with a stain in the carpet and on table and the bathroom had bare plaster boards on the ceiling and water dripping from ceiling right next to the lights !! I could just about get in/ out of the bath/ shower without breaking my neck… Bed is good.

Hotel ideally located next to the European institutions with easy access by public transport. A welcome and professional staff. Spacious, comfortable and functional room. American buffet breakfast with a wide choice of breads, pastries, cold meats, cheeses, juices, etc.

Booked online, in March for a stay in May, for two doubles. Message received that there are no guarantees of doubles and that twin rooms are allocated instead. I rang reception to check why, I was told that this is how it is, "if you are allocated a twin room you can push the beds together", I'm 2.0m tall and need a full bed, I said. "If you don't like it you can cancel the booking and go somewhere else" came the reply.

I've seen many reviews that note that the WiFi is horrific. This is true. I even tried to upgrade to the premium WiFi but was unable to do so, even after calling the front desk. The rooms are fairly typical EU rooms, so if you're expecting the spaciousness of an American hotel you will be disappointed, but otherwise the rooms were clean, well appointed (but small) and the staff, except for the odd inability to upgrade my WiFi, were very helpful, even with getting me the correct adapter for the EU (apparently my "universal" adapter wasn't as universal as claimed). If in Brussels for business, this hotel is central to all of the EU Commission and Parliament buildings. Overall a good stay.
